Instead, a ductless system is made up of an outdoor compressor and one or more indoor units that manage the temperature in specific areas of the home. These indoor units are connected to the outdoor unit with a refrigerant line that carries coolant to them. The indoor units then take in air from the room or area of the house, heat or cool it, and then recirculate it.
